Salary: £23,500 pro rata - £12.18 hourly (£12.68 with supplement)
A market supplement of £0.50p per hour is also attached to this role and is included in the advertised hourly rate. This will be applied to both your basic salary and to any additional hours.
Hours: 1 x 24.5 hours per week (Working on a 2 week rota, which includes alternate weekends) and 1x 24 hours average per week with no set rota
Location: Burnrigg Court, Carlisle
Contract: Permanent
The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.

Burnrigg Court are recruiting for an experienced Cook to join our team and develop their knowledge and skills, especially with nutrition and dietary planning. The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference in the resident’s lives, as each of their dietary and care needs will be catered to.
Burnrigg Court, situated on the edge of Carlisle, is a newly built care home that can accommodate up to 60 residents, providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment to those who are physically frail, highly dependent and people with Dementia.
The Role
As a cook, you will be required to plan, prepare, and serve meals that are nutritionally balanced and that meet specific dietary needs. You will support the day to day running of the kitchen, maintaining the highest standards, completing paperwork, and ensuring adherence to infection control and Environmental Health procedures.
The right candidate will learn and understand the individual needs of each resident, developing and adapting their meal plans to meet their nutritional needs.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is motivated, positive, and methodical. You do not need to have had previous experience in a residential home, however we would love to hear from people with an awareness of Diabetic meals and high nutrition recipes, as well as people with a willingness to think outside the box and adapt to the varied needs of our residents.
You will need to be a genuinely caring and dedicated individual. You will be joining a friendly, hardworking, and supportive team, who always strive to ensure an environment of safety and respect.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check.
