Salary: Grade 13 - £40,221 - £41,418 per annum
The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.

Our Team – Fostering North
The Fostering Team consists of social workers who support, supervise and recruit foster carers who provide homes for cared for children. This team includes the Home Finding Team which oversees and manages all requests for children needing accommodation by the Local Authority.
The Role/ Who we are looking for
This is a great opportunity for the right person to join a busy team to provide support and supervision to Foster carers alongside assessment. Fostering is an essential role to allow children, who are unable to live with their usual care giver, a safe environment in the short or long term. Children need a safe home to develop and process the trauma and loss that is often involved in reasons for removal. The supervision and support of foster carers facilitated by Fostering Social Workers means that we foster and encourage supportive and therapeutic care. The successful candidate will have a key role in the training and supervision of foster carers to meet the complex needs of children.
They will also be required to participate on a rota to identify short term placements across the county as part of their role. We are looking for someone who is able to relate well to foster carers and convey information to them clearly and openly and will have good telephone skills. The role also works with managers of the fostering teams across the county in ensuring sufficiency of placements and colleagues in external commissioning. Must enjoy team working and providing support and training to foster carers and attending recruitment events, there may be some weekend working. There will also be the opportunity to showcase social work skills working on complex cases. Contributions to fostering panel will also be encouraged.
