Social Worker – Adult Social Care, Mental Health West
Salary: £35,745 - £36,648
The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.
Hours: Fulltime, 37 hours per week
Workbase: Based at West Cumbria House, Workington, but covering Allerdale and Copeland

The Mental Health West Social Work Team are looking for a registered Social Worker to join the team on a permanent basis, supporting Adult Social Care across Allerdale and Copeland. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career and work alongside experienced individuals who are passionate about providing appropriate person-centred support and outcomes for people in Cumbria who have social care needs.
The Role:
You will work as part of a dedicated team and will assess the needs of adults and their carers, ensuring the development and delivery of appropriate person-centred support to provide the protection and support needed. You will also be responsible for providing standard and non-standard interventions, such as advice, guidance, and direct support to individuals.
You will have a varied case load and ensure that support and care delivery services are as seamless and timely as possible while working with other relevant professionals and agencies such as health, housing and third sector agencies. The work is challenging and interesting and you will ensure compliance with relevant national legislation and standards.
The right candidate will work in an autonomous manner and manage complex and demanding cases. The role includes the need to work in line with the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007), Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 on a regular basis.

If you have recently qualified, you will be supported throughout your first year in employment with us to undertake our Assessed and Supported first Year in Employment (ASYE) programme, alongside our experienced Advanced Practice Leads and colleagues in Learning and Development.Entry level social workers would start on grade 9 which is £ - £ until completion of ASYE when they would progress to the Level 5 Social Worker wage.
