We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Participation Officer to play a pivotal role in the implementation and coordination of the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities Initiative | Child-Friendly Cities Initiative This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working to make Westmorland & Furness more inclusive, accessible, and responsive to children’s needs and rights.
As the Participation Officer, you will be instrumental in engaging with children, young people, local stakeholders, and community groups to ensure their voices and needs are central to the development of policies and programmes.
Who we are looking for…
A key responsibility of the role is to lead the coordination and implementation of the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities Initiative across various levels of the Council and its Communities. Along with facilitating the consultation and engagement of children and young people, ensuring their views are heard and integrated into the initiative.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
