About this opportunityCumberland Council is looking for an Assistant Highway Network Technician to join our Highways and Transport team. This is a great opportunity to support the delivery of highway improvement and maintenance projects across the county. In this varied role, you’ll assist with surveys, design work and specifications, collect and manage asset data, and help coordinate works with contractors and colleagues. You’ll also contribute to winter maintenance activities, provide basic technical advice, and ensure projects are delivered in line with standards, budgets and timescales.

We’re seeking a proactive and organised individual with a relevant technical qualification or experience in a similar environment. You’ll have good communication and IT skills, an understanding of highway maintenance practices, and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
