About this opportunity
Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated people into a Streetcare Operative within their Street Scene Department. The role will cover various waste, refuse and recycling collection rounds across the local area where you will be using appropriate equipment/machinery.
Who we are looking for…
The nature of the work means that the post holder will come into contact with members of the public, and a polite and helpful approach is essential.
Candidates will need to be physically fit and able to carry out the waste collection rounds. They will also need to have good customer skills and professional attitude as they are representing the Council in the local area.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake IOSH Working Safely and will also have the opportunity to undertake a level 2 qualification in sustainable resource management. Full training will be given in the use of any plant or machinery with which the successful candidate may be unfamiliar.
The hours of work are as follows:
Working 5 days a week Monday to Friday
Start time is 7:00am – 3pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00am – 2.30pm Friday
