About this opportunity
The Cumberland Global Resettlement Service (CGRS) is directly responsible and committed to the resettlement, integration and wellbeing of Refugee’s and Evacuees arriving in the United Kingdom under ‘safe and legal routes’ via several government schemes. We also recognise support required by people seeking Asylum as well as those who have been granted Refugee Status by the UK Government following assessment by the Home Office and endeavour to assist with their integration needs.
The Global Resettlement Service currently operate several schemes which have been introduced by Government to support those fleeing conflict and persecution and the service is designed in a way that it can respond to Worldwide crisis as it occurs, and government policy is introduced. At the forefront of this is our team of highly trained and qualified Refugee Families Resettlement Officers, who deliver integration through casework delivery and Early Help.
We are seeking a highly motivated, professional, and passionate individual who demonstrates the core Cumberland Council values through everything they do and who can support the delivery of services to allow better opportunities for people arriving into the UK and the Cumberland region.
You should have knowledge and experience of working with people at an Early Help level or similar and experience of working with displaced people would also be desirable but not essential. You would also need the ability to travel independently around the region, mainly in the West, but also the North as required. Above all else, you should be committed to working with and supporting some of our most vulnerable residents within Cumberland, ready to face a different kind of challenging yet rewarding work.

The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check.
