Salary: From September 2025 - £7.55 per hour - £279.35 per week - National Apprenticeship Wage - during first 12 months. (If 19 years old or over, after 12 months your salary will increase to minimum wage for your age)

What You’ll Do:
As an apprentice at Cumberland Council, you’ll be immersed in a variety of tasks that give you practical, hands on experience. In the Level 2 Highways Operative role, you’ll work on maintaining and improving road surfaces, ensuring traffic safety, and supporting essential repairs. For the Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician position, you’ll assist in the design, planning, and implementation of civil engineering projects, gaining valuable insight into construction and infrastructure management. As a Level 3 Installation Electrician, you’ll be involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, learning to meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Through these roles, you’ll develop key skills and knowledge that will set you up for a successful career in infrastructure and engineering.
