About this opportunity
The Strategic Commissioning department within Cumberland Council is seeking a Commissioning Assistant to join their team. The purpose of this team is to support service areas by identifying needs and commissioning services to deliver effective, efficient and best value services and outcomes for its service users.
The Commissioning team supports several services, including Adults Social Care & Housing, Children and Family Wellbeing, Disabled People (including mental health, learning disability and autism) and Public Health, delivering high quality services and outcomes for the citizens of Cumberland. Significant analytical support is required to make sure these services are commissioning in an effective & efficient manner, delivering value for money, whilst ensuring that the needs of Cumberland citizens continue to be met.
This is an exciting and rewarding role focusing primarily on the sourcing of homes and commissioning of services for Cared for Children. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing effective guidance, co-ordination and support in relation to this.
Other aspects of the post will include the accurate recording of data, the issuing of documentation relating to commissioning activities and assisting the Commissioning team with analysis and interpretation of information, stakeholder engagement and market development.
