This is a key post within the Carlisle Southern Link Road team. The team is directly responsible for the management of this £225m project over the next 2 years. The team also interacts with and provides support to other areas of the Council involved in the delivering of Capital Projects and aim to set a benchmark for good practice that can be rolled out across wider teams.
About the role:
Under the direction of the Programme Quantity Surveyors, you will manage and direct the flow of a variety of information including commercial and financial data relating to multiple work packages. This will include analysing trends and identifying areas for corrective action and improvement across the Carlisle Southern Link Road project team.
You will support the delivery of the project across a number of work packages contributing to delivery within budget and programme so as to contribute to the long-term strategy of project delivery.
Co-ordinate project delivery across all stages of the project life-cycle. Identifying issues and risks, managing change and seeking solutions or escalating to the Programme Quantity Surveyors as required.
With support you will identify the services and work that must be procured to complete projects. Assist the commissioning of works with consultants and contractors. Co-ordinate consultants and contractors to ensure that work awarded is carried out in a timely fashion.
Full driving licence required for this post.
Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have experience of project or programme management techniques and methodologies and ability to manage, interrogate and validate commercial data.
They will have an ability to work systematically and to effectively prioritise tasks in a pressured delivery environment and have a positive approach to team working.
