About this opportunity
Westmorland and Furness Council is the accountable body for significant levels of external grant funding, including Town Deal, UKSPF and the more recently announced £200m Barrow Transformation Fund. We are also working closely with Cumberland Council on legacy funding and future prospects that cover the whole of the Cumbrian geography.
This means there is an exciting opportunity to join the Accountable Body and Assurance Team within the Assistant Chief Executive Service to support delivery of a range of investments for the benefit of our residents and businesses.
In this role, you will provide programme management expertise, developing and implementing assurance processes to monitor, measure, evaluate and continuously improve the delivery of economic programmes, with a focus on benefits realisation. You will lead on the production and presentation of reports, provide advice and guidance to key internal and external stakeholders, and identify and mitigate key risks to programme delivery.
Ideal candidates will have expert knowledge of HMT Green Book principles and experience of managing grant programmes within complex organisations. We are looking for someone with strong analytical and excellent communications skills who can provide leadership within the team, supporting staff to create a modern, compassionate, learning and caring culture.
