About this opportunity:
We’re very excited about the Cumberland Adult Social Care Academy.
We have ambitious plans to grow our existing academy to provide support to all staff in adult social care and housing with specific programmes of support aligned to professional registrations and career progression. We want to make sure that the teams these people are in are able to support the wellbeing and development of their staff well.
We are committed to supporting local people develop social care careers and want to strengthen the links we already have with universities and other academic institutes to ensure that training and qualifications support people to be well prepared for the employment opportunities we can provide.
Our vision is that this support will be provided throughout people’s career and that we will be able to attract and retain staff who are motivated and share our ambitions to provide the best social care and housing support to the people of Cumberland.
The Professional Practice Lead – Social Care Academy post is an exciting opportunity for the right person to lead on the continual development and oversight of the social care academy. The post will sit alongside other Professional Practice Lead posts, reporting directly to the Principal Social Worker and forming part of our practice lead and practice development team.

We are currently operating both in-person and virtual interviews. Options will be discussed with candidates once they have been invited to the interview stage of the process for this specific position, and if you have any concerns or adjustments are needed, we are happy to discuss.
