The area your apprenticeship is within is residential care, this provides individuals with support, care and treatment in a comfortable home environment. We prioritise promoting independence and choice, ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect. In our setting, we not only address individuals' physical needs but also take a holistic approach, supporting their emotional well-being through engaging and meaningful activities. Additionally, we create an atmosphere where each person feels valued and empowered, encouraging them to actively participate in their own care journey. Working with others you will assist with food preparation, cooking and support with other kitchen operations.
As a Chef Apprentice with Westmorland and Furness Council, you will benefit from high-quality training and development opportunities, personalised support from managers and mentors, and the chance to work alongside skilled and experienced staff. Who we are looking for…
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join our team as apprentices. The ideal candidate will have a good standard of English, Maths, and ICT, and a strong willingness to learn and grow. You should be a team player with excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and a positive, flexible attitude. If you’re eager to develop new skills and take responsibility while working in a supportive environment, we would love to hear from you!
