An exciting opportunity has arisen in a supportive, committed, and friendly team for a highly motivated individual to work in Strategic Commissioning.
The Commissioning teams support several services, including Adults Social Care & Housing, Children and Families, Disabled People (including mental health, learning disability and autism) and Public Health, delivering high quality services and outcomes for the citizens of Cumberland. Significant analytical support is required to make sure these services are commissioned in an effective & efficient manner, delivering value for money, whilst ensuring that the needs of Cumberland citizens continue to be met.
If successful, you will be responsible for supporting on aspects of the commissioning process, including developing market intelligence, and designing and conducting analysis to identify service gaps to inform the commissioning of services to meet the needs of the people of Cumberland.
This is a high-profile role and will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside a range of people, both within the Council and from other agencies (such as the NHS) throughout Cumberland. This will offer a real opportunity to see if a career in Commissioning is for you.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
This is an office-based role at Carlisle or Workington (to be negotiated with the successful candidate). Homeworking is currently permitted on an ad-hoc basis in line with business needs
Who we’re looking for

You do not necessarily need a background in social care but you will be ambitious, collaborative, compassionate, empowering, and innovative and will have a desire and ability to effect change and deliver.
