About the Role

The successful candidate will manage the operational delivery of the Housing Landlord Service across Westmorland and Furness to meet the needs of communities, in particular the Councils social housing tenants. This role will deliver and develop service provision to ensure a high quality, consistent landlord service is delivered that is responsive to tenants needs.

In this role, you will:

• Manage the operational delivery of the Housing Landlord Service across Westmorland and Furness, continuously evaluating and monitoring performance and ensuring the most effective resources are utilised.
• Plan and manage the delivery of a high quality, inclusive and cost-effective Housing Landlord service across Westmorland and Furness to ensure the Council fulfils its statutory and regulatory responsibilities as a landlord of social housing.
• Provide management support to the housing landlord teams across Westmorland and Furness to ensure services are delivered in line with the relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
• Embed an inclusive customer focused culture across the service, delivering effective and appropriate services to customers, without discrimination

Who we are looking for…

We are seeking someone who is:

• An excellent, clear and constructive communicator at all levels, who can build relationships within and between services
• Able to lead, manage and motivate others to deliver service plans
• Innovative and proactive, with the ability to make decisions and take responsibility
• Skilled in IT and comfortable managing data for performance reporting and regulatory purposes
• Knowledgeable about housing services, policies, and legislation — particularly within social housing and the wider issues that impact on this
• Experienced in managing an operational service, and teams delivering those services, to deliver strategy and policy across operational services
• Experienced in implementing policies and procedures to support and improve service delivery

Above all, you will bring strong leadership with a proactive, collaborative approach to improving services and promoting the values and behaviours of the council to support staff and build positive relationships.

Whilst this post is based in Barrow, you must have the ability to travel efficiently around the Westmorland and Furness area to conduct visits and attend meetings.
