We are looking for an innovative and experienced professional to join the South Reablement team as a Reablement Occupational Therapist. This is a great opportunity to join us during an exciting period in the service, and we are excited to find the right people to join our friendly team.
The Role
This post will be based with the South Reablement team, but working across the South Lakes and Barrow areas. The roles is an integral part of the Reablement team, and you will work with the Reablement Review Officers (RRO’s), undertaking assessments, and delivering appropriate person centred, strengths based support on complex cases. You will also provide advice, guidance and mentoring to the RRO team.
You will work with relevant professionals and agencies within this district to ensure that assessment, support and delivery of services is as seamless and timely as possible. The ideal candidates will have knowledge of the assets and services within South Cumbria. You will also need to work directly with customers, their carers and others, implementing the approaches of self-directed support through various mechanisms, e.g. personal budgets, individual service funds and direct payments.

The Reablement Service provide short term support for adults with wide ranging needs, enabling them to live as independently as possible, whilst also ensuring their safety and well-being. We are committed to working with them to achieve person centred outcomes, helping them to remain in their own homes within their local communities.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will be an accredited practitioner who are HCPC registered, with a degree in Occupational Therapy. You will also have evidence of on-going professional development. We are looking for a candidate who can travel extensively throughout the required area, and who are hard-working and proactive team players, with good knowledge of practices and issues within adult social services. We are looking for people who are excellent communicators, have good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence people to change and make difficult decisions.
