Shared Lives Carers provide care and support to adults with additional needs by welcoming them into their own home or supporting them within the community. The role focuses on helping individuals live independently, develop daily living skills and take part in everyday activities.
This is a flexible opportunity that can fit around other work or family commitments. Support arrangements may be long‑term, short‑term (respite) or day support and are tailored to the needs of the individual, with ongoing guidance from a dedicated Shared Lives Scheme Worker. Each carer develops a personal profile which is used to match them with an individual requiring support based on common interests', location and support needs.
No previous care experience is required. Full training and ongoing support are provided. A spare bedroom is required for long‑term and short‑term placements.
Shared Lives is a CQC‑regulated service.
