About this opportunity
It’s an exciting time to be part of Adult Social Care and Housing directorate working in Cumberland Council. Having developed a 3 year programme focussed on technology enabled care we are seeking a person who can help us realise our vision. We’re ambitious. We know technology is an enabler for change and when it’s done right, it can help people to live happy, fulfilled lives in their homes and communities.
To achieve our ambition, technology enabled care needs to be embedded seamlessly into care and support services, changing our relationship and that of the people we support in the way tech solutions are used. We can’t do this alone; we need a person who can lead, motivate and inspire others to help us realise this vision.
Key responsibilities
This role reporting directly to the Assistant Director for Housing and Quality will take strategic leadership and management responsibility, leading the business transformation and implementation of our technology enabled care plan. Lead in the delivery and evaluation of service design projects, working in collaboration with colleagues in Adult Social Care, Digital Innovation and ICT and Customer Solutions to analyse the benefit of changes made (both financial and non-financial) to raise the profile of service design and agile working practices within the organisation and persuade people at all levels of the value of being user-centred and the importance of design in policy and service delivery.
The role will ensure engagement with our workforce is consistent throughout to implement effective technology that is relevant to all aspects of the service. Lead the directorate’s Tech Enabled Care programme and ensure there is alignment with the standards and frameworks for digital working in adult social care, such as the What Good Looks Like framework and Digital Skills Framework.
This role will take strategic responsibility for input into development and delivery of service and work alongside our 2 Digital Design Leads who sit within the Digital Innovation and ICT service. Our Digital Design Leads are helping us lead this transformation, implementing digital technologies and developing the workforce’s digital knowledge and skills, helping to design and deliver new digital solutions to improve the care for those requiring support.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a skilled leader with experience of managing in a political environment who’s able to demonstrate an ability to be a strong networker, able to build relationships. Someone who has the ability to create and maintain a culture that enables and empowers staff and individuals to think creatively in order to achieve the best, most independent outcomes for people.
Experience of leading cultural and behavioural change in support of new ways of working to improve the experience or outcomes for people. Fundamentally, we are seeking individuals who embody our organisation’s core values: ambitious, collaborative, compassionate, empowering, and innovative. We believe in the power of these values to drive positive change and shape a better future for our communities. Your commitment to these principles will be instrumental in delivering services that are vital to the well-being and prosperity of our residents.
