Community Rail Cumbria brings together the three Cumbrian Community Rail Partnerships for the Cumbrian Coast Line, the Furness Line and the Lakes Line.
Each Partnership brings together a range of local authorities, train operating companies and other stakeholders in order to develop rail services for the economic and social well-being of the county.
This is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a genuine commitment to community development and skilled in areas such as communication, negotiation and presentation to join a small successful team. Candidates must be outward-looking, flexible in approach and possess the ability to initiate and develop community-based projects within a complex industry. Ensuring financial viability through differing funding sources is integral to the role.
Primary focus will be on developing the Furness and Lakes lines with a keen eye to supporting the wider local rail network and an appreciation of regional rail activities. Working closely with public, private and voluntary sector partners this post offers a unique blend of variety, creative challenge and the opportunity to make a real difference.
