Salary: £38,220 - £39,152 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: 30 Hours Per Week
Contract: 18 months Fixed Term Contract.

Join Us in Transforming School Food across Cumberland! Cumberland Council is excited to recruit a passionate and ambitious School Food Development Officer to join our Public Health team. This is a unique opportunity to lead the transformation of food environments across schools, early years, further education and special educational settings in Cumberland. Our mission is to create healthier, more inclusive and sustainable food environments by embedding the evidence-based School Food Matters Nourish programme. This programme empowers schools to put nutrition at the heart of their culture, supporting lifelong health and wellbeing for children and young people. Nourish uses a collaborative whole school approach to food involving everyone across the school community to create lasting change. This role will include the delivery of fun and engaging nutrition education directly to children and young people, so they can develop a positive relationship with food for their future health and happiness. Purpose of this post is to promote, develop, deliver and embed the School Food Matters Nourish programme across schools in Cumberland. We are committed to partnership working. Children, young people and their families will be at the heart of this programme. The successful candidate will champion co-production and work closely with parent/carer forums, young people and community partners to design, develop and evaluate this innovative programme together along with support and training from School Food Matters.
