About this opportunity
Cumberland Council is seeking a Finance Officer to join our Central Payments Team, supporting Fostering, Adoption, and Special Guardianship services. In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll provide financial assessments, manage direct payments, and offer expert advice to carers and social care staff across the county. You’ll also contribute to policy development and help maintain robust financial systems that support vulnerable children and families.
We’re looking for someone with a recognised qualification in Finance or Accounting, strong IT skills, and experience in a busy office environment. You’ll need to be confident working independently, handling sensitive issues, and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
