Health and Social Care - Adult Support Care Workers Apprenticeship

Salary: National Apprenticeship Wage – 1st Year of Apprenticeship £7.55 per hour
Location: Opportunities are available based in Kendal and the surrounding area.

As an Adult Care Worker with Westmorland and Furness Council, you will benefit from high-quality training and development opportunities, personalised support from managers and mentors, and the chance to work alongside skilled and experienced staff. This hands-on experience will allow you to gain valuable job-specific knowledge and transferable skills, setting you up for a successful and rewarding career. Our apprentices will rotate between building and community-based services to gain broad experience of all our service types and client groups.

Many of our career pathways within Adult Social Care are community based and can involve travel, meaning the ability to drive would be a valuable asset, however you choose to progress in the future - this will be discussed in more detail following the appointment of the successful candidates. Please note, this is not a requirement for the role and we would encourage applications from everyone.
Who we are looking for…
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join our team as apprentices. You should be a team player with excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and a positive, flexible attitude. If you’re eager to develop new skills and take responsibility while working in a supportive environment, we would love to hear from you!
For the Level 2 qualification the ideal candidate will have a good standard of English, Maths, and ICT, and a strong willingness to learn and grow. No formal qualifications are required.
For the level 3 qualification the applicant should have a minimum of 5 x GCSE at Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language.

DBS
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with an Adults Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with adults. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults.
