Salary: £27,852 - £28,371 (+ enhancements for sleep ins / shifts)

About the role:
We are seeking to recruit Casual Homeless Accommodation Officers, to work as and when required to cover planned / unplanned absences and periods of increased need. This includes providing cover within a 24-hour service on a fixed rota including working evenings, weekends, and sleep overs (on site).
The Homeless Accommodation Service directly manages and provides housing related support to single people and families experiencing homelessness / rough sleeping, across 50 units of emergency accommodation in Carlisle, some of which is staffed 24 hours a day on fixed rotas (this post is one of those roles).This is a statutory service in fulfilment of the Councils statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996, Homeless Reduction Act 2017 and Domestic Abuse Act 2021.The post holder will assist in the delivery of 24-hour direct access emergency accommodation services and providing personalised immediate support to people experiencing homelessness in the fulfilment of Cumberland Councils statutory responsibilities.Note this post provides cover within a 24-hour service, including working evenings, weekends, and sleep overs (on site) based within in a residential men’s scheme and a women and families scheme.Experience of working with vulnerable people is preferred but not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate.For an informal discussion please contact Peter Rhodes on 01228 817386.
