Hourly Rate: £12.38 - £16.46
The advertised hourly rate includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.
A market supplement is currently being applied to all night and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) shifts, uplifting your hourly rate in these periods to £16.46. This will replace any previous market supplements and will apply to both your contracted hours and to any additional hours worked within the applicable time periods.
Location(s): Workbase will be one of the below Extra Care Housing Schemes and the role will work between the two as and when required:
Jenkins Crag Court, Kendal
Birthwaite, Windermere
Available Hours: up to 35.5 hours guaranteed per week, as and when required across both of the above locations.
Relief contracts also available.
Please note: Extra Care is a 365 day a year, 7 day a week, 24-hour service. This will include weekend and Bank Holiday rotas. Typically, our shifts run between the hours of 7am – 3pm, 3pm till 10 pm and 10 pm till 7am.
We are looking for caring and compassionate people to join our supportive teams within Extra Care Housing, providing tenants with the right level of support and care, while encouraging and enabling them to achieve or maintain their own independence.
As a Support Worker within Extra Care Housing, you will get the opportunity to know people individually and support their wellbeing through physical and emotional care. You may also assist with medication, providing personal care, meal preparation and any other identified needs.
Extra Care Housing provides support to people living within a purpose built independent living community, everyone has their own home environment such as a flat or bungalow. This role will be working across both our schemes within Kendal and Windermere, as and when required.
Jenkins Crag Court, Rydal Road, Kendal
Located in the South Lakes town of Kendal, Jenkins Crag Court is a welcoming, safe and vibrant place to live for the over 55s, offering care delivered by staff on-site as part of individual care packages.
The innovative Birthwaite Extra Care Housing Scheme in Windermere was completed in June 2014. The scheme can help to prevent admissions to hospital, facilitating quicker hospital discharge and preventing admissions into residential or nursing care.
No experience or qualifications are needed to get started. We will help and support you with fully paid training and development – we are looking for the right people, with the right qualities. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Adults Barred List check.
