Hourly Rate: £15.63- £16.12 plus sessional payments can be claimed dependent of shift detail
The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.
Hours: This role offers flexible hours across all of our homes. You will be joining the Relief RSW Bank and a member of the team will contact you when hours become available. This may be on both a short term and long-term basis.
We operate within a shift system this includes days, evenings, overnight sleep-ins and weekends. You will receive a sleep-in allowance of £54.24 for each eligible sleep-in shift worked.

The Role
We are looking for enthusiastic kind and supportive people to join our teams across the county providing support to children and young people in Cumbria. This is a highly rewarding role. You will need to be self-motivated and have the desire to want to make a real difference. You will get the chance to build close relationships with young people in our homes supporting them to have their voice heard in all aspects of their care planning.
This role requires the ability to work with situations and behaviours displayed by young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The right candidates will be committed with the skills to assess each young person's needs to create individual care plans.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for people with experience working with children and young people. You will be willing to work towards or already have achieved a minimum Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
A good knowledge and understanding around managing behaviours would also be key to this role as well as being an exceptional communicator that is able to build relationships with both young people and their families.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
