Cumberland Council Digital Team - Multiple Opportunities; Digital, Service Design, Content Design, Web and Automation.
Hours: 37 hours per week.Workbase: Flexible & Hybrid; currently home working. Team base is Carlisle (Civic Centre or Cumbria House), with office locations in Workington (Allerdale House). Contract: Fixed term contract for 24 months.
It’s an exciting and challenging time to join Cumberland Council’s Digital team as we support organisation wide transformation programmes, service design and continue to innovate and improve our digital services. We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled professionals to join us and help drive an agile and responsive culture to deliver on our Digital programmes.
These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact, focusing on improving user experiences, streamlining processes, and delivering high-quality digital services. All roles will work across various projects, from initial design to implementation and continuous improvement.
The Digital team is part of the Business Transformation and Change Directorate, supporting the Council Plan and digital strategic direction ensuring the effective delivery of digital services across the organisation and putting residents, communities and health and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.

Senior Digital Service Design Officer
Salary: £48,474 - £49,498 per annum
Role: Lead the design and delivery of user-centred digital services, ensuring they meet the needs of our users and align with the Council’s strategic objectives. You will manage a team of designers and work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
Digital Service Design Officer
Salary: £44,428 - £45,441per annum
Role: Support the design and development of digital services, working collaboratively with service users and stakeholders to create intuitive and effective digital solutions. You will contribute to all stages of the design process, from research to implementation.
Intelligent Automation Officer (x2)
Salary: £35,745 - £36,648 per annum
Role: Implement and manage intelligent automation solutions to improve efficiency and service delivery. You will work with various departments to identify opportunities for automation and ensure successful deployment and maintenance of automated processes.
Senior Website Content Design Officer (x2)
Salary: £33,945 - £34,834 per annum
Role: Oversee the creation and management of website content, ensuring it is user-friendly, accessible, and aligned with the Council’s digital principles and national accessibility standards. You will act as a knowledge expert and collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain high standards of web content.
Web Development Assistant
Salary: £26,421 - £27,334 per annum
Role: Assist in the development and maintenance of the Council’s websites and digital platforms. You will support content designers and the web development team in building, testing, and deploying functional web components ensuring they meet user needs and technical requirements.
Digital Design Lead (Adults) (x2)
Salary: £44,428 - £45,441 per annum
Role: Lead the design and delivery of digital services and tech enabled care for adult social care, ensuring they are user-centred and meet the needs of users. You will work closely with service users, stakeholders, and the digital team to create or deliver effective solutions.
