Have you ever considered working in Commissioning?
An exciting opportunity has arisen in a supportive, committed, and friendly team for a highly motivated individual to work in People Commissioning as a Commissioning Manager.
Recruitment to this post is required to support the People Commissioning Team in commissioning a range of key programmes of work, ensuring that we secure the best external providers to deliver the most advantageous service to our Customers in terms of quality, cost and social value whilst delivering outcomes in line with the Council Plan.
If successful, you will be responsible for taking the lead on aspects of the commissioning process, including developing market intelligence and designing and conducting analysis to identify service gaps to inform the commissioning of services to meet the needs of the people of Cumberland. You will ensure that a wide variety of stakeholders are engaged throughout the end-to-end commissioning process and will follow the Council’s governance processes particularly around decision making and the Contract Procedure Rules.
You will work as a Commissioning Business Partner to the Council’s People Services (Adult Social Care & Housing, Children & Family Wellbeing and Public Health & Communities) and commission services which enable them to deliver their statutory duties and transformation plans.
We are looking for an innovative and creative individual with skills, knowledge, and experience in delivering / managing projects, who wants to make a difference. You will need to be an effective communicator, be able to understand and interpret data and deliver outcomes. You do not necessarily need a background in commissioning, just a desire and ability to effect change and deliver.
The role will include line management of a Commissioning Officer and/or a Commissioning Assistant who will support you in commissioning activities.
This is an office-based role at Carlisle or Workington (to be negotiated with the successful candidate). Homeworking is currently permitted on an ad-hoc basis in line with business needs.
