Cumbria County Council has the fourth largest highways network in England with 7,900 km of carriageway, 4,000 km of footways and cycleways, 145,000 gullies and 45,000 lighting columns.
As a Civil Engineering Technician apprentice in the Highways service you will be actively involved in ensuring that this vital asset is maintained to ensure the network operates efficiently. You will be expected to effectively assist with a range of duties connected with the various Highways Service Areas including Asset Management, Bridges and Structures, Traffic Management, Network Management, Streetworks and Operational Delivery.

Aptitude Assessments and Eligibility Checks will take place between 1st and 12th April 2019. All applicants will be invited to attend on a specific day and must be available to attend on the day specified in order to be considered for the next stage in the recruitment process.
Medicals - The successful candidates will be required to pass a medical, which will be held in Penrith on a date to be confirmed.
