Salary: 25 927 - 26 446 (pro-rata)
The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.
Hours: We have 2 roles available; both are 32 hours per week
The hours will be over a 24 hour period, seven days a week and will include week ends and involve sleep in duties.

We are seeking caring, compassionate & enthusiastic individuals to support a deaf gentleman with Learning Disabilities in his home and within his local community.
You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to someone’s life, supporting our service user to maintain their independence by promoting communication through the use of British Sign Language (BSL).

About the RoleBeing a Support and Development Worker is a varied, challenging and incredibly rewarding role, where the support provided can make a real difference to people’s lives. In this role, you will support this specific individual, getting to know them and supporting their wellbeing by providing both physical and emotional support. This includes assistance and support with general care, such as providing support and encouragement as specified in care plans, monitoring progress, and teaching key life skills.
You will also spend quality time with this individual, helping them get out into their community as much as is possible. This is especially important, now more than ever, and you will get to know individual interests, ensuring hobbies and comforts are catered too.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is British Sign Language trained and has experience working in a person-centred role. You will understand the impact of the work you are doing and the difference you are making to this person’s life.
You will be friendly and compassionate, with the ability to motivate yourself. The role will be over a 24-hour period, and shifts are across all 7 days of the week, including evening, weekend work and sleep in’s, which are essential to the wellbeing and safety of the tenants. You will be there to support, but also to respond to any issues or emergencies that arise.
