Cumbria County Council has the fourth largest highways network in England with 7,900 km of carriageway, 4,000 km of footways and cycleways, 145,000 gullies and 45,000 lighting columns.
As a Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative apprentice in the Highways service you will be actively involved in ensuring that this vital asset is maintained to ensure the network operates efficiently.
You will be involved in a range of activities including maintenance, inspection and repair of carriageways and footways, bridges and structures, drainage and winter maintenance.

Aptitude Assessments and Eligibility Checks will take place between 1st and 12th April 2019. All applicants must be available to attend on the day specified in order to be considered for the next stage in the recruitment process.
Medicals - The successful candidates will be required to pass a medical, which will be held in Penrith on a date to be confirmed.
