Cumbria County Council FN023e
Contract:
Initial contract up to 12-months, with the possibility of extension
Salary:
105,669 per annum
At Cumbria County Council, we are achieving, despite the challenges and are ambitious and positive for the future. Across the county, we are committed to improving the lives of residents,
making the most of new opportunities, maximising the talent of our workforce, and leading in collaboration with communities and partner organisations to achieve more.
We are looking for an experienced and inspirational candidate to join us as temporary Director of Finance. In this key role, you will be the Council’s statutory Section 151 Officer, and the principal financial advisor, providing leadership to your service area and across the Extended Leadership Team, as well as working closely with Elected members, the Chief Executive and Monitoring Officer.
The successful applicant will lead a broad range of functions that includes providing strategic leadership for Cumbria Local Government Pension Scheme and the Cumbria Fire Service Pension, and leading the Council’s framework of strategic planning and financial management.
You will be an inspiring and collaborative leader, with a track record in building relationships, leading on transformational change, and delivering service improvements and better outcomes. A qualified and experienced accountant, you will be an excellent communicator, and the ability to influence and drive will be key to the role.
We are well aware of the realities and uncertainty facing the public sector, especially as we continue to respond to and recover from COVID 19. We see this as an opportunity to innovate, integrate, and do things differently.
