Salary: £22,369 - £22,777 (pro rata)
Hours: 2 x 15 hour posts or 1 x 30 hour post - term time only
Workbase: Cumbria Outdoors, Hawse End Centre, Portinscale, Keswick
Contract: Permanent, term time only, with occasional weekend and bank holiday working

This is an exciting opportunity to join Cumbria Outdoors at Hawse End Centre, situated on the shores of Derwentwater. Hawse End Centre is a large Victorian mansion offering outdoor learning to the children and young people of Cumbria and beyond. The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference and ensuring each person who stays with us has their dietary and comfort needs taken care of.
We provide a safe and caring environment for up to 73 guests. As a housekeeper/cook you will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and serving of all meals including breakfast, lunch and evening meal. You will also be involved in housekeeping and cleaning around the centres as required. Hours of work are organised in line with the groups’ requirements.
You will be required to maintain high standards, complete paperwork and follow all environmental and CCC procedures.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, positive and methodical. The role involves interaction with a wider team and guests so the right person must have excellent customer service skills and communication skills.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check with a Childrens Barred List check. Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children.
Interview information
This is a rolling advert and applications will be sent to the recruitment team on a monthly basis. Interviews will be arranged as and when candidates are successfully shortlisted.

From 1 April 2023 local government in Cumbria will change as we move towards Local Government reorganisation. The current six district councils and Cumbria County Council will be replaced by two new unitary authorities - Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumberland Council.
