Salary: 44,624 – 45,648

An exciting opportunity has arisen following the review of the management team in the Barrow and South Lakeland District, it has been identified the need for a fixed term Team Manager working across all teams to help with the service development and improvement.
One of the key responsibilities will be to provide management oversight and support our newly qualified social workers as part of our successful Social Work Academy approach. In addition to support in specific key tasks for the other team managers and teams, which will include performance, reviewing and auditing of cases, take a lead on areas within our development and action plan working in collaboration with the other district team and service managers.
As Team Manager you may deputise for other managers including, assessment, planning and intervention services to children in need, children in need of protection, looked after children and those young people who have left care, working in partnership with colleagues from within the Council and other agencies and using sign of safety methodology in our work.
In this role whilst supporting the ASYE team, the team will be working with vulnerable children and their families, ensuring they are in line with quality, national and legislative standards. You will be required to provide clear management oversight and effective decision making in order to meet our customer’s needs in a timely way, but also to support your colleagues. You will also need to manage and coordinate work activities in line with the service priorities, along with developing effective partnership arrangements with all appropriate stakeholders, always with the children and family needs at the heart.
