We are looking for candidates to lead the development and delivery of significant projects in Major Infrastructure and Place portfolios within the Council’s Capital Programme. These roles represent an opportunity to make a real difference to our economy and communities by delivering highway improvements, public realm schemes and cycling/walking infrastructure, as well as a wider range of potential projects in future.
This is a key post within the Capital Programme Team, which is responsible for the delivery of £100m+ of work annually. You are likely to be involved in developing business cases, procuring, and managing contracts, developing plans and managing delivery through to completion.
The Project Lead will engage with internal and external stakeholders across Cumbria’s communities, the council’s directorates, and other organisations and partners to ensure that the infrastructure delivered meets the need of the county’s stakeholders. We are looking for candidates who will procure expert designers and construction partners through the council’s procurement frameworks and manage them through the design and construction phases of your projects.
These are permanent posts that we envisage being required following establishment of new unitary authorities for Cumberland and Westmorland and Furness.
This is an exciting time to join our team and deliver key work across Cumbria, and if you have any queries about the post or our organisation, please contact Ged Acton on 07789 270280.
