Development Management Officer

We are looking for a civil engineer or person willing to train as a civil engineer (with relevant experience) to join our south area of Cumbria team working in the Flood Programme team.
The position is for an engineer supporting Cumbria Coastal Protection Authorities (CPA 5 no district authorities in Cumbria looking after the coast) and advising highways on assets affected by coastal erosion. We currently have a large programme of studies/works over the next 5 years, which may lead to substantial coastal defence work. The position is a planned replacement for an existing engineer set to retire this year.
In addition, as Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) we prepare flood defense proposals for flooded communities where Sec 19 reports have been published to ensure provision of an effective and appropriate standard of service, reflecting the relevant policies, technical principles, guidance with regard drainage.
