Chief Executive - Cumbria County Council CE251e
Job description
Chief Executive -
Cumbria County Council CE251e
Contract:
Initial contract up to 12-months, with the possibility of extension
Salary:
152,670 per annum
It’s an exciting time to join Cumbria County Council. Across the county, we are committed to improving the lives of residents, and it is our drive to build fresh relationships, which look across organisational
boundaries, emphasise our strengths, and focus on what makes a difference for people, which makes Cumbria such a stimulating and dynamic place to work.
Following the departure of our current Chief Executive, to join the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, we are looking to recruit a talented and inspirational leader as we prepare for and respond to local government reorganisation in Cumbria.
Innovative, collaborative, and a leading force in change management and developing partnerships, you will lead the senior team and work alongside Elected members. Key to the role will be to champion Cumbria as a place to live, work and do business, raising the profile of the organisation nationally. We are ambitious and are committed to creating the conditions to effect lasting positive change, as well as focussed on performance and delivery, and ensuring we have a financially sustainable future.
You will bring positive energy and direction, maintaining our supportive and engaging environment where communication, challenge, and improvement is encouraged and innovation is fostered, allowing us to maximise the talent of our workforce and their wellbeing.
We are well aware of the realities and uncertainty facing the public sector, especially as we respond to and recover from COVID-19. You will take a leading role in working with partners to deliver the multiagency Recovery Strategy, using this as an opportunity to innovate, integrate, and do things differently. We are focussed on improving outcomes with communities and modernising the organisation for the future.
The successful candidate will join us as we respond to the next phase of Local Government Reform, providing strong leadership and working effectively with Elected members, key stakeholders, central government, and residents.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person, so if you think this could be you, please send a CV and Supporting Information to Orlanda Wright at orlanda.wright@cumbria.gov.uk
For an informal discussion with Katherine Fairclough, our current Chief Executive, please contact Sue Fryer on Sue.Fryer@cumbria.gov.uk
