The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.

You will be a part of a team who deliver Edge of Care respite for children and young people who are identified as being on the edge of care, at risk of placement breakdown, or on a planned return home.

About the role
As an Outreach and Respite Support Worker, you will be responsible for developing a supportive and positive relationship with the young person and their family in order to guide and support the use of behavior management techniques. You will organise activities in order to promote self- esteem, and nurture confidence while teaching new skills.
You will advise and guide young people displaying risk-taking behaviors, challenging behavior, drug and alcohol misuse, neglect issues and violence.
You will also support and safeguard young people whilst on overnight stays at Blackwell Road
Who we are looking for
The right candidate will have experience working in a Residential setting, have achieved their NVQ 3 or 4 in a relevant field e.g., Social Care, NNEB, Childcare or Counselling, along with knowledge of managing challenging behaviour and child development (8-16 inclusive).
You will need strong communication skills, with a kind and compassionate attitude.
