Cook Vacancies - South Lakes
Could you be the right person for our team?
Are you hardworking, flexible, and friendly?
It takes someone special to work in care – do you have what it takes?
We have opportunities for motivated, compassionate, and flexible people to join our South Lakes homes as Cooks. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced cook to join our team and develop their knowledge and skills, especially with nutrition and dietary planning. The successful candidates will be passionate about making a difference in the resident’s lives, as each of their dietary and care needs will be catered to.
As a cook, you will be required to plan, prepare, and serve meals that are nutritionally balanced and that meet specific dietary needs. You will support the day to day running of the kitchen, maintaining the highest standards, completing paperwork, and ensuring adherence to infection control and Environmental Health procedures. The right candidates will learn and understand the individual needs of each resident, developing and adapting their meal plans to meet their nutritional needs.
Previous experience in a residential home is not required, but we would love to hear from candidates with an awareness of Diabetic meals and high nutrition recipes, as well as people with a willingness to think outside the box and adapt to the varied needs of our residents. Ideally you will be a genuinely caring and dedicated individual, who has a willingness to learn and is a great team player. You will be joining friendly, hardworking teams, who always strive to ensure an environment of safety and respect.
Joining our teams and working as a part of the Cumbria Care service, offers many opportunities for candidates, and we pride ourselves in the training and development we offer employees and how we can support you on your career pathway. An up to date Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required for these posts.
We offer full training and support to make sure you are confident and ready to provide great support to our residents. All our homes have full PPE available for staff and full training to ensure you know how to use it to keep you safe. You will also have the option to be tested regularly for Covid-19 alongside all staff members to protect staff and residents.
We currently have hours available at Maudes Meadows Residential Home Kendal and Christian Head Kirkby Stephen, but are always looking for interested candidates across South Cumbria. If you are friendly and like working as part of a large team we can offer you a rewarding opportunity in Cumbria Care.
